dave the biggest deal is that we definitely don't want to pay any more than $200 a month for space around here. i think that space and where its located is worth about $200 just. we really want a work space locally to work in up to June or so. we can always drive down to the gigantic joint we work out of in philly if we need to. its just a hassle to drive down there if we arent getting paid to do so (i mean if we're going down just to work on our own stuff). but it would be totally cool to have a space for making stuff even after we do all the things we want to do for that show up in easthampton mass (or as i like to call it, 'fudgehampton mass', or 'east fudgehampton mass'.) let alone a space to play music in and hang around in; on a couch in the light that pours down thru the skylight (as i imagine it). if its decided upon to get it, i dont want to give that guy 3 months up front. i mean if he says 'first and last months + plus security' i'd likely say to him,"mister, i have the good vibes and all, but i still want to throw you in the saucony, bitch." ha ha... i'm thinking we could do a few things to defray the cost of monthly rent. like sushi sales (the new hipster bake sale), lo key shows, endless garage sales, hipster hand-made markets, refinish furniture from the red barn and sell it, etc etc.... whatever.... oh and definitely the film festivals could become monthly deals. it would be good to try to hook up arts grant $ too but of course that would take a year. and who knows where we'll be. and BENEFIT SHOWS. another concern is sharing space. we would most likely be getting pretty messy. it would be terrible if i got some nasty paint or book-binding glue all over a computer or an expensive mic or something. we would want to build permanent walls or wild walls (those walls on sets that move around on casters or whatever). and i would want to tear up that carpet and paint the floor white or sky blue or something. and if we had music for public consumption i wouldnt want any drunk motherfuckers to touch any of our work or supplies so i'd be pretty 'str8 edge' about running shows. i'm sure beth will weigh in soon. i want to do it. but i know i'd blow up a new credit card doing it and that might be bad. since my credit has finally been restored... just get the guy to go down to like $100 and i am IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lemme know what goes down tomorrow. we might be away working on rittenhouse square all week (high above the square in an apartment in the sky!). i'll email you later.

Not Not Fun etc. Woods (from NYC noisy psych folk) run fuck it tapes, has a member of Wooden Wand. Pink Desert - Allentown drone/noise duo. Vibe hard. GSGA - Allentown noiser, calmer stuff though. Builds up and crashes to dust. This will be either at the Globe or Fireball Island (Haven't talked to either yet, but it will work out). tara told me her and jack rose had just gotten to the airport diner when raffi from Death Chants got there and said the cops had arrived (he split cuz he had the greeens on him. he was accross the street getting in his car when they got there). i think only mv & ee were there still. maybe one or 2 other vermonters. i guess the cops asked them what the hell they were doing there at 2:30AM and ee told them she's 'just played a concert' at the space. the cops said something like 'we didnt know that kind of thing took place here' and 'we've had some trouble here in the past'. fuck them. asshole cops. i think the patrol goes thru our parking lot at 2:30 every night so we have to be all gone by then. and not gone like elvis. i think (hope) the cops might have been surprised by the news that there are 'concerts' at our space and theyve never gotten a noise complaint. just sucks that they know theres shows there now. who cares. we dont do anything they can get us for. any word from Al? could you tell rachel that i have to make sure the printer actually works right. it powers on but i've never hooked up to my computer. i dont have the right cable. if you have an assortment of cables lay one on me and i'll test it out. how big is the metal sheet at betty's? going to work, eric

hey man, have you talked to Al yet? i was thinking it would be good to get him to agree to 1 or 2 months rent free if we're gonna hook the place up for him. materials will include 10 gallons of paint & primer joint compound (lots) and plumbing shit to make a bathroom if possible. get him to confirm putting in a skylight too. if he were to pay for materials i think it would be fair to just get him to agree to 1 month free rent.
